Living In School

For over a year and a half now, my husband and I have lived in a converted high school. These buildings have become very common (sadly due to the increase in unaccredited inner city public schools). However sad, I am a sucker for the old 12-paned glass windows that line the building. Original to the school, facing East towards the Crossroads Arts District. I have been in awe of the light that streams in every morning, sometimes diffused by clouds, and the mellow orange tones that turn to a blinding white.

This collection of images is my attempt to capture the passing of time, the ambience of tall ceilings and old wooden window frames. Before I leave this home I want to try and capture the feeling of living in the old classroom laced with chalkboards and walking the wide locker lined hallways.
